It’s said Lee originally hoped to title the film “A Love Supreme,” after Coltrane’s iconic album, though the name was ultimately not used. The back print completes the tribute with a reproduction of John Coltrane’s handwritten “A Love Supreme” musical score, making this piece a subtle crossover between film history and classic jazz culture.
